TrueOak Roofing & Exteriors

Siding, gutters & exteriors

The rest of the building envelope — because a storm rarely stops at the roofline, and neither does the water.

Exteriors is half the company name, and not for marketing reasons. Roofs, gutters, fascia and siding are one system: a gutter that overflows rots the fascia behind it, and water running down a wall finds its way in at the siding long before anyone blames the roof.

Handling the whole envelope in one visit is also materially cheaper than bringing separate trades back one at a time — the staging and the crew are already there.

Seamless gutters

Formed on site to the exact run, so the only joints are at corners and outlets. Correctly sized downspouts and a fall that actually moves water. Undersized gutters are the most common reason a new gutter system still overflows.

Gutter guards

Worth it under trees, largely unnecessary without them. We will tell you which applies to your house rather than selling you the upgrade by default.

Fascia & soffit

The board behind the gutter and the panel under the eave. Rotted fascia will not hold a gutter no matter how well it is hung, and blocked soffit vents starve the attic of intake air — which is a roofing problem.

Siding replacement

Storm-damaged and aged siding, including the housewrap and flashing details behind it that decide whether the wall stays dry.

Why it matters

Gutters are a roofing problem wearing a disguise

Water that cannot get away from the house goes somewhere else. Overflowing gutters soak the fascia, run behind the siding, saturate the soil against the foundation, and back up under the shingles at the eaves when it freezes.

We look at all of it during a roof inspection whether or not you asked us to, because quoting a roof while ignoring the gutters that will damage it is not much of a service.

  • Correct sizing for the roof area draining into them
  • Downspouts that discharge away from the foundation
  • Fascia repaired before anything is hung on it
  • Soffit intake kept clear so the attic can breathe

Questions about siding and gutters

Can you do the gutters at the same time as the roof?
Yes, and it is the sensible order — gutters come off for a tear-off anyway, and rehanging new ones onto repaired fascia while the crew is on site costs less than a separate visit later.
Do I actually need gutter guards?
If you have trees overhanging the roof, they earn their money. If you do not, they mostly do not. We will say which applies to your house rather than adding them to every quote.
Is siding damage covered by storm insurance?
Often, on the same basis as the roof — sudden damage from hail or wind is usually covered, age and wear are not. We document siding and soft metals during a storm inspection because they corroborate the roof damage.
How long do seamless gutters last?
Aluminum seamless gutters typically run a couple of decades if they are sized correctly and kept clear. The failure is almost never the gutter itself — it is the fascia behind it or a downspout that was too small from day one.
