Roof replacement
Full tear-off and re-roof for homes and commercial buildings across South Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania. Written, itemized, and warrantied on paper.
A roof replacement is the largest single repair most homeowners ever buy, and almost all of the money goes into things you will never look at again. That is exactly why the specification matters more than the brochure.
What a TrueOak replacement includes
- Complete tear-off down to the wood deck. We do not shingle over an existing layer.
- Deck inspection and repair — every sheet of sheathing gets looked at once it is exposed, and soft or rotted sections are cut out and replaced.
- Ice-and-water shield in the valleys, along the eaves, and around every penetration.
- Synthetic underlayment across the field. It does not tear in wind the way felt does, and it stays sound if the roof sits open through a weather delay.
- New drip edge on eaves and rakes.
- New flashing at chimneys, sidewalls, skylights and vents. Nothing reused.
- New pipe boots — the single most common source of a leak on an otherwise sound roof.
- Balanced ventilation: ridge exhaust matched to soffit intake, sized to your attic rather than guessed.
- Starter strip and ridge cap from the same system as the field shingles.
- Daily magnetic sweep and a final clean-up pass before the dumpster leaves.
- Written workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer's material warranty, both handed over on paper.
Materials
What goes on your roof
The right material depends on your roof — its pitch, its exposure and how long you plan to be in the house — not on what we happen to stock.
Architectural asphalt
The default for most homes. Laminated, dimensional, and rated for high wind. Longer life and better appearance than a three-tab for a modest step up in cost.
Standing-seam metal
Higher up-front cost, far longer service life, and it sheds snow and ice properly. Worth pricing if you intend to stay in the house a long time.
Low-slope systems
For flat and near-flat sections — porches, additions, commercial buildings. Shingles do not belong on these, and putting them there is a common and expensive mistake.

Signs the roof is past repair
Any one of these on its own may just be a repair. Three or four together usually means the field of the roof is done.
- Granules in the gutters — the mineral surface is what protects the asphalt underneath; once it is washing off in quantity, the shingle is aging out
- Curling or cupping edges — shingles lifting at the corners have lost their flexibility and will not seal down again
- Bald or shiny patches — asphalt showing through where the granules have gone
- Leaks in more than one place — a single leak is a repair; several at once usually means the underlayment has failed generally
- Daylight through the roof boards — visible from inside the attic, and a sign the decking itself needs attention
- Sagging along a ridge or between rafters — a structural issue, not a surface one — get this looked at quickly
- The roof is at its rated age — most asphalt roofs are specified for 20 to 30 years; past that, repairs stop being economical
Timeline
What the week actually looks like
Inspection
About an hour on site. We walk the roof, photograph it, measure it, and check the attic where we can get to it.
Estimate
Itemized and in writing, usually within a couple of days, including the per-sheet rate for any decking that turns out to be bad. The figure stays good for twelve months.
Schedule & delivery
We book a date and materials arrive ahead of the crew. You will know who is coming and when.
Tear-off & dry-in
Day one. Old roof off, decking assessed and repaired, underlayment and ice-and-water down. The house is watertight before anyone leaves.
Shingles & detail
Day two. Field shingles, flashing, ventilation, ridge cap, then clean-up and the magnetic sweep.
Walkthrough
We go over the finished roof with you and hand across both warranties and the manufacturer paperwork.
